Dear NEASEA Members:
We are pleased to announce that the 2010 Student Employment Recognition materials are now available on NEASEA’s website. These materials include NEASEA’s Student Employment Recognition Handbook, as well as the forms necessary to participate in the Charly Totoro Undergraduate Student Employee of the Year, NEASEA Graduate Student Employee of the Year, and NEASEA Supervisor of the Year selection programs. We are sure these will be helpful tools as you navigate through your first or forty-first Student Employment Recognition program cycle.
Mark your calendars for the National Student Employment Week. This year, National Student Employment Week will be held April 11 – 17, 2010.
As a reminder, last year, NEASEA enhanced the nomination process based on feedback we received regarding the process. We took your suggestions to create what we feel meets the needs of our students, employers, readers, and administrators, and makes for an overall smoother process.
The selection period for this year is for work performed from June 2009 through May 2010. Institutional nominations consist of:
- Institutional Selectee Report
- Campus Nomination Form
- Job Description
- Letter of Nomination
- NOTE: No extraneous material, which may be used at the campus level, will be considered.
NO mailed or faxed nominations will be accepted. To be considered, nominations must be sent via email attachments to Darlene Fletcher at fletched@salve.edu no later than March 1, 2010. There will be no exceptions made for late submissions.
Please be sure to consult with your campus NEASEA colleagues, as only one nomination per program per school will be accepted. Also remember that your NEASEA Membership dues must be paid by March 1, 2010 in order to submit nominations.
I look forward to an exciting Student Employment Recognition program in 2010. We are also looking for members to volunteer as district and regional level readers. If you are interested, please send me an e-mail by January 29, 2010, letting me know if you would be interested in reading at the district level, the regional level, or both. Please do not hesitate to contact me or any board member if you have questions or suggestions.
